Aby Cohen

Aby Cohen Brazilian designer and art director for theater, exhibition and cinema. Has participated of five edition of Prague Quadrennial since 1995, representing Brazil. At PQ'11, as curator and designer for Brazilian National Exhibition │Characters and Frontiers: Brazilian Scenographic Territory, awarded with the Golden Triga, in PQ'99 also as curator and designer of the Brazilian Thematic Section. Graduated in Arts, started her career as theatre designer at Macunaima Theatre Group, directed by Antunes Filho in 1992. Since that has been working with distinct theatre companies and for a variety of independent theater productions. In parallel to the professional practice she is Lecturer for a M.A. Scenography program at the University of Fine Arts, FBA, Sao Paulo, also has been working for a number or Art Exhibitions in Brazil with International interface as such as Bienal of Arts of Sao Paulo, Bienal Mercosul, among others. Is member of OISTAT since 2003, and currently collaborating for WSD2013, as Design as Performance Coordinator and on the Exhibition curatorial panel.
