PQ Talks is a series of lectures, discussions, and presentations that explore contemporary trends in the fast-developing field of scenography. The series includes talks with and about leading theater makers and scenographers, such as Andris Freibergs, Jerzy Gurawski, Robert Wilson, Robert Lepage, Julie Taymor, Bianca Casady, Mike Pearson and Adrianne Lobel.

Three sessions curated by New Zealand designer and theorist Dorita Hannah with companies Rimini Protokoll, Gob Squad and theorist Maaike Bleeker will explore screens and projection as important tools in contemporary performance. Serbian architect and theorist Radivoje Dinulović will discuss Scenography in Society of Spectacle. In the framework of Performing Space or Ephemeral Section of Architecture, curated by Serge von Arx, architect Klaus Schuwerk will focuse on the concept of Urban Theatre and Tony Hall will talk about his project inspired by Trinidad Carnival.
Lectures by Polish artist Wojtek Ziemilski, Australian designer and dramaturg Benedict Anderson, and British art activist John Jordan will explore the position of art and artists in contemporary society, touching on the main PQ concept of SharedSpace. The Wooster Group founder Jim Clayburgh will talk about how the space can become a site of dialogue and productive tension that get at the heart of design practice. John Collins, director of the renowned American theatre company Elevator Repair Service and the Wooster Group collaborator will talk about the dramaturgy of sound design.
Discussions about issues of "national scenography" led by the Irish theatre critic Peter Crawley; theatre and utopia with American critic Tom Sellar and a discussion about methods of scenographic education from around the world, with educators Tatjana Dadić Dinulović and Sofia Pantouvaki. Greer Crawley and Mike Pearson will talk about Antarctica and the latter speaker also about Polar and Site-Specific Theatre.
The morning Breakfast with Reija series moderated by Finnish performance designer Reija Hirvikoski will provide an open lounge space for scenography talks often directly connected to issues connected to the PQ itself. You can also join scenography discussions with Aby Cohen curator for Politics PQ 2015 (Occupation) in front of the Prague Crossroads or Simon Banham curator of Weather PQ 2015 (Cloud Gazing) in the courtyard of Clam Gallas Palace.
Further there will also be discussions and talks surrounding the Library of Light and Critical Costume projects that will provide spaces for detailed explorations of individual scenographic disciplines. Two presentations of new scenography publications will take place: collective of artists around Magazine Chance will talk about theatre photography within their work and Theatre & Performance Design Journal will be introduced by Arnold Aronson a Jane Collins. And last but not least, the leading German contemporary theatre magazine, Theater der Zeit will tackle the specificities of German scenography with set designers Barbara Ehnes, Katrin Brack, Mark Lammert, Florian Lösche and theorist Ulrike Haß.
