Tomáš Svoboda

Tomáš Svoboda is one of those visual artists who use processes and expressive tools of other disciplines. He shifts from literature to scenography and film and he combines their elements mostly for gallery exhibitions concerning alternative forms of narration. He always puts emphasis on economic and model solutions, often working with short, descriptive texts and their simple composition. His installations are complemented by fragments of three-dimensional scenes, or architectonic constructions, reminiscent of ephemeral structures in film and TV studios. He is an author of several achitectonic realisations of exhibitions in public gallery institutions. Since 2001 he has taken part in a management and concept of the Display gallery, now under the name tranzitdisplay.
