Beyond Everydayness brings together a collective of more than 35 collaborators – theatre historians, architects, curators and art theorists – to shed light on historical, political and cultural contexts in the multicultural region of Central Europe through the development of theatre architecture. It presents the typological variety of theatre buildings and the development of theatre spaces – based on 73 of the most important theatre buildings, dating from the 16th century onwards, and the current condition of each building.
