... with interesting tales to tell.
"An unusual item made its way into my hands thanks to our performance of a Greek tragedy at a women's correctional facility in Minnesota", writes Theodora Skipitares about the heavy brass key that she has loaned to the PQ'15 OBJECTS exhibition.
After the performance, when the theatre group was getting ready to leave, an alarm sounded throughout the prison – the key to one of the cells had disappeared. It was never found, even though all of the prisoners were thoroughly searched. One month later, Theodora's kitchen faucet broke. You can imagine how surprised she was when she pulled a heavy brass key out of her bag at the repair shop instead of the faucet...
The path that led the "Key to Freedom" to its current owner is only one of the many stories linked to the theatre-related items that are included in the exhibition.
