The Man Without a Space
Wojtek Ziemilski
PQ Talks
Polish director and visual artist Wojtek Ziemilski will in his lecture from the PQ Talks series explore the idea of home/nest/space - and losing (or waging) that space in a contemporary (performing) art world. The basic point of departure is that not having a home seems at once a crucial and impossible quality of theatre today ('theatre' understood broadly).
“The issue which is to me quite connected to this is the possibility of representation in a universe without clear sources/spaces/Grund. (But not so much in the line of Baudrillard's simulacra - which I think is quite outdated, conveniently abstract and unconnected to being in the world. I'm aiming at something much closer to the body, and to the actual experiencing and creating of worlds). I want it to be a personal story, about growing up in different places, walking alone to kindergarden, living next to a prison, and being brought up among crazy theatre people."
Don´t miss Ziemilski´s story of far-fetched metaphors, ranging from uncontacted tribes to different theories of outer space.
