Faded like a Rose: PQ Talk by Bianca Casady from CocoRosie
A poetic research of liminal beings: Synesthesia

PQ is honored that Bianca Casady from the eccentric duo CocoRosie accepted the invitation to lecture at PQ'15. Casady will talk about how theatre is the perfect field for the development of a synesthetic creative process. Synesthesia describes the experience of one type of stimulation evoking the sensation of another. She will chart the histories of certain images, and discuss the narratives which emerge from the slow distillations of fragments which transmute from words to song, to photograph to character and so on. To speak of these images is difficult as they do not abide by logical systems of gravity or time. Some of these images are immaterial and unnamable, merely and essence closer to scent, faded and fleeting like the end of a dream.
