May 22– 25, 2014 London, UK
The Accidental Festival is produced with passion by second-year students at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Now it was 9th year, this was the 4th year it has been held at the Roundhouse in Camden, where it has become an annual opportunity for artists to share work, take risks, and present fresh ideas to a diverse audience.
This year the festival was part of the international SharedSpace: Music Weather Politics project (see below) and therefore various works of students from universities in Netherlands, Czech Republic, Israel and United States could be presented. It all started on Thursday May 22 with a symposium for students and academics to discuss and debate shared visions for future of performance design education. This gathering embraced the scenography of London by taking place on an iconic London Routemaster bus as we travel around the city.
For the Festival weekend May 23 – 25, the students have created a stimulating and social atmosphere with emphasis placed on the arts as a shared experience. It promoted the discovery of new conversations and unique experiences, aiming to inspire future students, audiences and artists through the formation of relationships, and an emphasis on learning and discovery.
