The scenographic workshop as a part of SharedSpace: Music Weather Politics was held in Warsaw from 7th to 9th March. Participants were selected from more than 30 applicants. After the group of 18 young artists, scenographers, choreographers and actors had unique opportunity to collaborate with Marta Górnicka, Michał Libera, Julia Bui-Ngoc, Daniel Moński, Katarzyna Stefanowicz or Eric Linder. For instance Eric Linder's concept on territories, choosing spaces and how to transform the notion in them had a great success. „This workshop linked very well movement, space and sound. The balance between theoretical and physical workshops was very useful,“said Macedonian student Aleksandra Shekutkovska. The aim of the gathering for this workshop was twofold; first it was to present an interdisciplinary approach to Sound, second to launch a discussion about Sound and Space. During three days there were six workshop sessions focused on Give Space To The Imagination – Give Space For Sound. The participants had various professional backgrounds so they could exchange their ideas and experience. The workshop was organized by Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute together with Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space and Swiss Arts Council ProHelvetia.
Feedback from the participants:
Especially useful part of the gathering was Eric Linder's concept on territories, choosing spaces and how to transform the notion in them. Sharing the life experience and management was rewarding.
The exercises with Marta Górnicka also were very useful for building collectives, not just as actors however, also when building teams of architects, artists I would really love to use this concept before creative production.
This workshop linked very well movement, space, sound. The balance between theoretical and physical workshops was very successful.

I really enjoyed the teamwork on our task – a place in Warsaw which we could change by sound. Another interesting part was when every participant was presenting their own collage [presenting his vision of a sound-artistic project that might happen in his city or an idea of a sound that is somehow related to his home place, Ed.]

For me as a performer working with Julia Bui-Ngoc and Katarzyna Stefanowicz and also Marta Górnicka were the most effective, because they work with the body, the voice and the physicality.

Michał Libera offers interesting idea of sound which I was thinking about for a performance I'm working on. Marta Górnicka inspired me for her teaching method. Eric Linder gave me some tips about managing with inhabitants of a public space – on how to collaborate with them in creating an event.

The best was the meeting with Eric and the way how he talked practically about ANTIGEL festival.
And of course to meet other young artists and make ideas of specific space and share this experience together.
Marianna Stránská (CZ)
It was useful to met people from different artistic disciplines, who see projects from different view points. Hearing about the establishment of ANTIGEL was fascinating.

I wish Michał Libera could spend more time with us – as a group. For what concerns Eric – Great Choice!

Marta Górnicka's original way of creating a theatre formula: the choir and Eric Linder's experience of developing and creative alternative platform for contemporary art, by addressing its main issues and transforming them into strengths of the project. I intend to use both of them as a theoretical company code.
Catinca Drâgânescu (RO)
All the experience that I had here I will use in the future professional life.
Natalia Kubiak (PL)
I liked that we were touching different fields – from feeling own Body in space (dance) – through exploring space for events (with Eric Linder) and of course power of voice with Marta Górnicka. All is somehow linked and I will think about it more after coming home.
