From 2003 to 2008 he was a manager of Silesian Dance Theatre (the first professional contemporary dance company in Poland) and Annual International Contemporary Dance Conference and Perfromance Festival.
As a curator and programmer he was responsible for the seasons of contemporary dance of North Rhein-Westphalia and Wallonie- Brussels in Poland. Kowalski initiated and run the cultural exchange programe between Silesia and Wales. He worked in Rozrywka Theatre - one of the most important musical theatres in Poland between 2009 - 2011. He also worked as a producer of the open air concerts and curated residential project "Entree" supporting young Polish performers. The same time I founded association dedicated to postindustrial heritage organizing conferences and community projects. Since 2011 he runs the Center For Polish Scenography, division of Silesian Museum in Katowice, the only institution focused strictly on wide understood stage and space designing.
